FAQs
When is the next mission trip?
Our next mission is scheduled for January, 2027. Sign ups begin in Spring, 2026 with on-boarding and training scheduled throughout October-December, 2026. The mission trip itself in Peru is approximately 10-12 days.
How much does it cost?
As you might expect costs can change year-to-year. For our 2027 trip we forecast the per volunteer costs to be $2,500-$2,750 for accommodation, food, transportation in Peru. This also included all guides and a full day and guided tour of Machu Picchu. Round trip airfare is $1,000 -$1,700 depending on booking timing and airline.
Who should volunteer?
Anyone who is interested in a life-changing opportunity to help those in need and want to mentor college students as they experience how to make a difference. Adults of all backgrounds have enjoyed this experience – medical and dental professionals, nurses, pharmacists, academic and business professionals of all types.
Do I need to speak Spanish or Quechua?
While it is helpful to have some fluency in Spanish, it is by no means necessary or required. Each year we are joined by a great team of translators who help when working directly with patients in the clinics. Outside of the Huilloc it is also very easy to communicate as many speak English.
